Rent Abatement

Rent Abatement is determined by the instructions that you create in the Lease screen. If you select the radio button "Yes" for Rent Abatement, then the default is When Car Arrives at Shop until Car is Released from Shop. However, you can also state, based on your lease agreement, that it starts either at Arrival or at date of Notification. You can also state that the rent abatement does not start until after a certain amount of days after Arrival or Notification. The same is true on the release date, it can end on the release date or a certain amount of days after the release date.

The report uses the exact same information that you use if creating a "Rental Invoice". On the "Rental Invoice" the amount of rent abatement days as well as the adjusted amount appear at the right of each car. On the "Rent Abatement" report, it will give you the detail information, such as the arrived date, release date and so on.

The lease instructions on rent abatement will appear at the top left side of the report. If the instructions state that days are added to the start date, and the start date is not within the range of the report, then the added days or Not Added. The same is true with the added days when a car is released. If a car has not been released, the added days at the end will Not be Added as well. The start of rent abatement will always be calculated at the actual start date unless the start date is prior to the report start date. If that is the case, then the calculation starts at the report start day. The same is true with the rent abatement end date.

The Rent Abatement Report will always match the Rental Invoice. If a car is currently in the shop and has not been released, an (a) will appear on the right side. If a car is not in shop yet, but notification has been received, then a (b) will appear on the right side. The foot note at the end of each lease rent abatement report will indicate what the (a) and (b) mean.
